Introduction

I was a web developer for a small web page for the company GraphIT. I utilised my attained web development skills on a real project for the first time.

The problem and my solution

A startup based in the UK required a website to ensure their online presence. I was hired together with a web designer to transform the design envisioned by the company into a working website. I used my web development and communication skills to discuss debatable moments with the designer and to clarify functional questions directly with the company.

Lessons learned

I got a chance to experience web development in the real world for the first time. Communication proved to be a key skill that needed to be developed for this task. Internal deadlines helped deliver the product in time, but unfortunately the contact with the company was lost after the work had been completed and later they found another web developer.
