GraphIT
This was my first paid work as a web developer, back in 2022. I coded a first version of the website for a UK startup in cooperation with a designer.
The job
I was hired by GraphIT together with a web designer to turn their envisioned design into a working website. The job itself was simple: do what I had already done many times — build the pages with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Bootstrap. But this was the first time collaborating with real people rather than with my own vision: implementing their thoughts and changes, discussing debatable design or code solutions, coming to agreements and taking part in meetings.

What it taught me
Being my first real project, it taught me the great value of communication. I learned how to respect deadlines, how to notify the management when something might not be the best solution or when a piece of functionality would be better done differently, and how to work with co-workers — in my case, a web designer. I am glad to have had the chance to get real project experience and to improve my web development skills. The site has since been replaced by a newer version made by another developer.
